Bartender resume example
Bartender resumes are read by bar managers and general managers who screen on three things: venue type (fine dining, hotel, craft cocktail, dive, high-volume nightclub), covers per shift (how hard your shifts run), and cocktail-program depth (classics fluency, in-house menu development, spirits specialty). Certifications (TIPS/ServSafe, bar manager license where required) go at the bottom as facts. Avoid 'passionate about mixology' phrasing — hiring managers skim past it.
How to write a strong bartender resume
- 1Open each role with venue type + bar size + typical covers per shift. 'Head Bartender, craft cocktail bar (38 seats + 12 bar seats), 180-220 covers on Fri/Sat' calibrates the reader instantly.
- 2Name the cocktail program scope: classic-led, house menu rotation cadence, in-house syrups/infusions/tinctures, batch program for high-volume service.
- 3Quantify service speed and revenue where you can: drinks/hour at peak, average check size, comp rate, labor cost as % of revenue.
- 4List spirits specialty if you have one: whiskey, agave, amaro, wine pairings. Specialty bars hire on this signal.
- 5Certifications (TIPS, ServSafe, local responsible-service permits) go in a named block at the bottom — required for any bar job but not persuasive.
