What this tool actually checks
The scorer is rule-based, not AI-backed — every check has a clear reason behind it, and you'll see exactly which rules passed, warned, or failed. No vague "improve your summary" feedback.
- Length — within the 300-1,200 word healthy range.
- Contact details — parseable email + phone in the header.
- Standard sections — Experience, Education, Skills headings ATS can detect.
- Measurable outcomes — whether bullets include numbers, percentages, dollar figures.
- Action verbs — bullets start with strong openers, not weak hedges like "responsible for".
- Worn-out phrases — flags 20+ cliches experienced hiring managers skip past.
- Keyword coverage — compares against the job description if you paste one.
What no public ATS checker can do
Some tools claim to show you the "exact score" an applicant tracking system assigns. That's fiction — Workday, Greenhouse, and Lever don't expose per-resume scores; recruiters use their search features, not a score. What our checker reports is a rules-based estimate of how well your resume is likely to parse and match, which is closely correlated with recruiter findability but isn't the same thing as an internal ATS number.
