Dear Design Hiring Team,
I'm applying for the Senior Product Designer role at Linear. My portfolio is at jane-doe-design.com, and the first case study — a billing dashboard redesign for a Series D fintech where I moved the first-invoice completion flow from 47% to 68% — is the closest mirror I've shipped to the billing-and-permissions work your job posting calls out.
At my current company I also led the design-system primitive layer (28 Figma + code components, Radix-based) adopted by six product teams; shipped the WCAG 2.1 AA compliance work on our checkout flow that unblocked a $6M enterprise contract; and ran 22 usability sessions across three customer segments to validate a new pricing surface (shipped variant lifted free-to-paid conversion 18% in 90 days). My day-to-day is Figma plus code proximity — I've committed to the production repo on small changes, and I work in the design system over time rather than treating it as a shadow-project.
Linear is one of the few products I use every day that I would rather contribute design to than almost anywhere else. The culture of craft and shipping-small that shows up in your changelog is what I want to be building inside, and I'd be particularly excited to work on the editor surface or the cycles/views work where interaction design at low latency matters most.
Could we schedule a 30-minute portfolio walkthrough? The billing-dashboard case study is the most relevant piece, and I'd rather walk through the design decisions than rely on the PDF to carry them.
Warm regards, Jane Doe
