Dear Hiring Manager,
I'm applying for the Senior Power Electronics Engineer role at Tesla. I specialize in power electronics and most recently owned schematic plus 12-layer PCB layout for a 48V-to-12V automotive DC-DC converter at my current company, which hit 96.5% peak efficiency and passed CISPR 25 Class 5 on first spin.
Beyond that converter, I led hardware bring-up for a mixed-signal SoC evaluation board (debugged three silicon issues over six weeks to unblock production tape-out); ran FCC Part 15 Class B pre-compliance sweeps in-house (saved about $80k in external lab iteration cost); and designed the gate-driver circuit for a 10kW SiC inverter that shipped 1,800 units in 2024 at 99.2% first-pass yield. My tool stack is Cadence Allegro for layout, LTSpice and PSIM for simulation, and Keysight / Rohde & Schwarz instruments on the bench.
Tesla's power electronics roadmap, particularly around SiC adoption and efficiency targets, is exactly the work I want to do for the next five years of my career. I'd be especially interested in contributing to OBC and DC-DC programs where my recent experience applies directly.
Could we schedule a technical conversation? I'd be happy to walk through the 48V converter design choices in detail.
Best regards, Priya Sanders
