Dear Hiring Manager,
I'm applying for the Senior SRE role at Snowflake. I currently run platform engineering at a mid-stage SaaS company on AWS (320 accounts, three orgs), where I led the migration of 42 services from ECS to EKS — which cut per-service infra cost 31% and reduced deploy time from 18 minutes to 4.
Beyond that migration, I built a GitOps pipeline (ArgoCD plus Terraform) used by 12 teams — deploy velocity grew from 9 to 38 per day at a lower incident rate; carried on-call for six critical services with personal MTTA under 5 minutes and MTTR under 40 minutes through 2024; and drove a FinOps tagging initiative across 180 AWS accounts that surfaced $1.4M annualized savings (of which $920k was realized in the first year). My stack is AWS primarily, Terraform for IaC, Prometheus + Grafana + OpenTelemetry for observability, and ArgoCD for progressive delivery.
Snowflake's platform engineering org operates at a scale I haven't worked at before, and that's exactly why I want the role. I'd be particularly interested in contributing to the reliability and cost-engineering programs where my recent work applies most directly.
Could we set up a 30-minute conversation? Happy to walk through the ECS-to-EKS migration as a worked example of how I scope and sequence this kind of work.
Best, Rowan Keller
